The perspective

Experienced judgment for the decisions that matter.

The knottiest business problems reach across sales, operations, people, cash—and your own future. Working through them takes an understanding of how those pieces fit together.

I work alongside owners to examine the choices, challenge assumptions and choose a way forward. Then we put plans, useful information and clear responsibilities behind the decisions, so the work moves ahead.

Some questions worth working through together

01Owner intentAre we building the business we actually want to own?

Define what success means for you now, examine how the business supports it, and decide what to carry forward from the original vision—and what needs to change.

02PerformanceWe’re working harder and selling more. Why isn’t the business doing better?

Look across products, channels, people and operations to understand where profits are earned, where they’re absorbed, and what would improve the economics.

03DataWe have plenty of data. Why is it still hard to see what’s happening?

Connect sales, customer, marketing, production, inventory, labor and financial information in a shared view of the business. Build practical forecasts and track progress against goals, so the team can spot emerging problems, agree on priorities and know where to act.

04DirectionWe have several opportunities. Which deserve our money and attention?

Work through the demand, capacity, cash and team each opportunity requires—and decide which choices serve the business you want to build.

05TeamWe have great people. How do we build systems that help them do their best work?

Give capable people clear priorities, useful information and the authority to act. Build practical ways to coordinate work and follow through, so progress doesn’t depend on you being in every conversation.

06TransitionsI’m thinking about a partner, succession or sale. What should we be doing now?

Clarify what you want from the next chapter, examine your options, and prepare the business so you have more choices when the time comes.

02

The owner operating system

How ready is yours
for what comes next?

Every founder-led business has an owner operating system—even when much of it lives in the owner’s head.

It connects what you want to accomplish with the information, decisions and follow-through required to get there. As the business changes, that system needs to develop with it.

Understand the whole business.

Connect the information across the company into a shared view of performance. Use practical forecasts and progress against goals to see what needs attention.

Better decisions today. Better options for your future.

03

A good fit

You still see
what’s possible.

You’ve built an established business, and you still see possibilities for it. There’s something consequential to work through. You’re willing to examine what needs to change and commit the time, attention and resources to act.

You don’t need to arrive with a neatly defined project. Defining the right question can be part of the work.

Paul Schneider

Founder & Principal

I’m Paul Schneider, a brewery owner and operator with 14 years in beer. I’ve worked across production, hospitality and wholesale, with responsibility for the people, priorities and financial tradeoffs that connect them.

My advisory work has helped brewery owners make portfolio decisions, build sales and management systems, and prepare for ownership transitions. I bring an owner’s sense of what’s at stake, and an operator’s concern for whether a plan will work in practice.
